Hello! I want to start off by thanking you for all the support we have received in the past year! The amount we have grown has been tremendous! Therefore, I believe it is time to move on and further expand what we have already started. So, on behalf of my team and I, we are proud to have released the new and improved, Double Full Gym Blog. A new site and new sources are provided through the link. We will no longer be posting content on this source but will continue to post on our new site. So, head on over and check out what we have to share. We want to make it an enjoyable experience for all of our viewers and we feel as if this is the way to do so. Thank you again and we can't wait to see what the future holds as we pick up blogging on our new site, this week! :)
With a new year in, and the old year out, it's time to reflect on last year's experiences and look forward to the ones to come in the new year. And to celebrate the new year, we're joining you in reflecting upon last year's occurrences. So to do our part, we are sharing with you, our three favorite moments in the gymnastics world from 2016. Counting down from three, in the spirit of the new year (just like they count down from three to see the ball drop) we begin with...
3. Diversity on the Podium
Often it is teams from the big four that we see standing on the podium in the end. However, this Olympics we had a wide variety of teams on the medal stand in the end. Giulia Steingruber won Switzerland a bronze on the vault. Amy Tinkler from Great Britain won a bronze on floor. Sophie Schemer won a bronze on uneven bars. Other countries were contending in the finals, mixing it up also, Hong Un Jong of North Korea was in the vault final, as well as Dipa Karmakar of India, Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan, and Shallon Olsen of Canada.

2. Brazil Impresses on Home Territory
With the Olympics being hosted in Brazil, the home team's performance was expected to be slightly better, however, not too much was expected from them. This all changed, after Diego Hypolito performed a nearly perfect floor routine enough to get him a silver medal. Moments later, Hypolito's teammate, Arthur Nory, executed a flawless routine enough to put him in the bronze medal position. Moments later they would realize that the final standings left them with Olympic medals. The moment was moving. Watch below:

1. Aly and Simone Dominate All Around Final
Our favorite moment of this year was when Aly made a comeback for her 2012 Olympic experience and Simone finally got the medal in the all around she deserved. It was such an amazing moment for them and for us to witness.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed a joyous and celebratory new year! Stay tuned for more as the NCAA season begins this weekend!! :)
Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you enjoy a nice holiday with family and friends! Don't forget to stay warm!! Thank you for your support this holiday season!! My gift to you is another throwback article, so here is an article I wrote over a year ago. Enjoy the cringe...
In Glasgow the representatives for team USA will be: Simone Biles Gabby Douglas Brenna Dowell Madison Kocian Maggie Nichols Aly Raisman MyKayla Skinner Six of these athletes will be competing, one will be a traveling reserve. Non-traveling alternates are Bailie Key and Alyssa Baumann. I am pretty happy with the representatives chosen. They are all very talented gymnasts, and I'm expecting to see very high scores from these girls. - fan #1 I'm happy with the men's team. I hope they can medal even without Sam. Paul should help on high bar. - fan #2 YAY! Brenna finally made the team!!!!! 😃 I've been waiting for this.... - fan #3 I wish Alyssa could be on the team with Madison. However, I'm sure the US can still do great even without Alyssa's beam work. Mykayla Skinner should also help on vault and floor. This is a great team that I'm sure will do great. I hope all of them can make some sort of individual finals. Good luck to them all! - fan #4 All the athletes (men and women) work hard and are fantastic athletes.! -fan #5 Thanks to all the fans who commented their ideas! :). If you would like to have your thoughts featured in the next "Fan's Thoughts" please comment below your ideas on the announcement of the worlds team. :) Thank you all for reading and enjoy a nice rest of the holiday season with your family!! :)
In this week's edition of the routine of the week, we are featuring Epke Wonderland's extreme high bar routine from the 2012 Olympic high bar final. Full of huge release combos (plenty of kovacs') and difficult connections, Epke's routine in the final started at nearly an 18.0. His execution was also just good enough to win him the gold medal by just over a tenth. Unfortunately, changes to the code did not benefit Epke in this recent quad and he was not even able to make it onto the podium in this year's Olympic games, placing seventh. Hopefully, next quad he can improve and hence, make it into the Olympic high bar final and successfully finish in the Tokyo Olympics, four years from now. Without further ado, enjoy Epke's high bar routine below (from the 2012 Olympic high bar final):

Amazing! Am I right? He scored a 16.533 out of a 17.9. Be sure to comment down below suggestions for the next edition of routine of the week! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more! :)

I would like to apologize for yet another results article. I have been busy and will be returning to normal articles hopefully next week. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more! :)
I was given the wonderful opportunity to attend the Kellogg's Tour last week. On behalf of Double Full Gym Blog, I was able to record some performances for you guys! However, there was great difficulty when we tried to publish them into this post. So, I will be presenting to you, the same performances I saw, just through the eyes of another recorder. Without further ado, I present to you, the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions!
At the beginning of the show, a nice dance, performed by local gymnasts, was shown as well as exhibition from high level gymnasts around the area.
Next, you will see a performance by the Final Five gymnastics team, as well as some beam solos by the gymnasts.
Lastly, I present to you, a fan favorite performance by the men's Olympic team!
Thank you for reading (and watching some scenes from the Kellogg's Tour with us)! Stay tuned for more........ :)
In honor of the upcoming NCAA Gymnastics season, we're throwing it back to last season. Remember how spectacular the Michigan men's team was on vault last year? Remember Anthony McCaullun and his tsuk double pike? Well, that's what we're showing you today! Anothony McCaullun performed a HUGE tsuk double pike last year and he often landed it well and even stuck it. At the BIG 10 Championships last season, Anthony was one of the last vaulters to go and boy did he sure perform a BIG vault! Watch below as he incredibly sticks a tsuk double pike!
Isn't that amazing! Anthony then went on the win the NCAA title, a huge success for Michigan! As a sophomore this year, we hope to see Anthony perform just as well. Also, did you know Anthony competed at P&Gs and plans on competing elite again this year? Anyway, good luck to Anthony and the rest of his Wolverines this year in the NCAA season!! :)

*If you have any suggestions for a 2nd edition of, "Where are They Now?", PLEASE comment them below! Thank you!
Welcome to the 1st edition of "Where are they now?". This time featuring, 2008 Olympic All Around Champion, Nastia Liukin. This segment will include not only facts about a former gymnast's career, but also their personal life today. Enjoy!
BEIJING, CHINA - 2008 Olympic All Around Championships:
It's the final rotation of the all around final. Nastia. One of the final competitors. It's going to be close and everyone knows it. What it comes down to is who can stick the most passes. Yang Yilin of China performs shortly before Nastia mounts the floor exercise podium. After Nastia, Shawn Johnson, her teammate, rival, best friend, will go. This is what counts. The music starts and the crowd stops. The tension can be felt, the intensity is insane. This is the make it or break it moment. First pass. Handspring, front full, front double full. Beautiful. She follows this with some beautiful leaps. Liukin finishes the rest of her routine efforlessly. After her last pass, the arena can breathe again. The score comes in and it's a big one. 15.525. This makes it nearly impossible for Shawn Johnson to beat her. Nastia Liukin was shortly afterwards crowned 2008 Olympic All Around champion.
Following her moment to shine in Beijing, Liukin tried to make a comeback to the sport that she loves and yet she failed to make a second Olympic team. Thus, she decided to pursue a normal life outside of gymnastics. Successes in media and other sorts include:
Her own meet, the Nastia Liukin Cup.
A leotard line and equipment line.
She was on the hit reality TV show, Dancing with the Stars!
She has a book, Finding My Shine.
Nastia now commentates for NBC.
She is a public speaker.
Liukin is currently starring in the Kellog's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.
Nastia Liukin so far has had an extremely successful career and I wish her the best of luck in future assignments and jobs (also congrats to Nastia *she is getting married very soon*)! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!
